PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Relay Network today announced that it has expanded its senior leadership team, appointing Steve Higgins as its new Chief Technology Officer and Lisa Guillaume as the company's first Chief Product Officer. Joining the company during a period of record growth, the software industry veterans were brought on to accelerate Relay's next phase of product innovation and market expansion.
"Customer experience is the new competitive battleground, and the need for technology that enables companies to create better, easier, more effective digital connections with their customers has never been more urgent," said Matt Gillin, CEO of Relay Network. "Steve and Lisa bring the experience, energy and drive needed to push the limits of what's possible with our technology and scale our business to take advantage of this demand."
Relay Network establishes a lasting, digital connection between businesses and their customers with a private engagement channel that drives interactions and enhances the customer experience. Its client roster includes dozens of enterprise clients such as Independence Blue Cross, Citizens Bank, Cox Communications, and Comcast.
Steve Higgins, Chief Technology Officer
As CTO, Higgins will push Relay's vision to enhance client and customer experiences, build an agile team to respond to changing business demands, and drive product scale, efficiency and security. He brings more than thirty years of large-scale enterprise software architecture and development experience and an entrepreneurial spirit to this position.
Prior to joining Relay Network, Higgins spent three years as CTO of Service Power; other roles include chief technology architect at Stratix Corporation and VP of software engineering at Apacheta Corporation. Higgins also co-founded JAS concepts, a company that developed middleware software products for the enterprise mobility space, which was acquired by Cotelligent in 2001.
Lisa Guillaume, Chief Product Officer
With more than 20 years of experience in B2B product, marketing, and development, Guillaume joins the company as Relay's first CPO to progress the strategy and execution of Relay's growing product suite. Previously, Lisa led her own consulting firm, focusing on go-to-market strategy and execution for growth stage startups in B2B technology and cloud services providers. Prior roles include managing director of the B2B practice at Sterling-Rice Group, VP of CDN services for Level 3 Communications and VP of product and marketing at Digital Globe.
Customer experience has become the top priority for sales, marketing and service teams. According to Gartner, today 89 percent of companies expect to compete mostly on the basis of customer experience, versus 36 percent four years ago. As a result, Relay Network is experiencing record growth: Q3 2016 marked the the strongest quarter in company history, and it is on track to double YoY revenue for the second consecutive year. By the close of 2016, the company anticipates it will increase employee headcount by 62 percent compared to this time last year.
