REGEN Energy™'s Swarm Energy Management™ Proven Effective in SMUD Pilot Study

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Sept. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- REGEN Energy™ is pleased to announce the release of a report publicizing the results of a research project with Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). This study, in cooperation with the utility and an independent program evaluator, showed peak reduction capabilities that translated into energy and bill savings for customers and peak load savings for SMUD.

SMUD wanted to test Swarm Energy Management™ in a commercial sector that includes buildings with rooftop air conditioners for which effective energy management solutions are difficult to find. The study was designed to test the technology's impact on peak use and energy consumption, as well as customer comfort, at such facilities. REGEN's Swarm Energy Management controllers were installed at five different sites which exemplified this underserved market segment.

"In addition, at the demand response levels we tested, the technology reduced demand during critical peak events without adversely affecting occupant comfort."

One of the participants in the study was Emigh ACE Hardware, one of Sacramento's oldest and most well-respected retail establishments. The demonstration project and its results will be discussed in detail at the Autovation conference on October 1^st, 2012 in Long Beach, California.
