Red Hawk Manager Named Most Valuable Person by Alarm Association of Florida
BOCA RATON, Fla., July 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- National Account Manager for Red Hawk Fire & Security http://www.redhawkus.com, Josh Wolk has been recognized as the Most Valuable Person of the Year for his dedication to the fire, life safety and security industry and for his work helping engage the direct involvement of the Alarm Association of Florida (AAF) https://fla-alarms.org/ in the state college technician training program through Palm Beach State College.
Most of Josh's nearly 25 years in the electronic fire, life safety and security industry has been with the Red Hawk Fire & Security organization, a leader in the fire, life safety and security industry. He began his career as a self-described 'helper technician' after serving in the U.S. Navy in submarine warfare. Wolk worked his way up developing design expertise and management skills to be recognized by his peers as one of the top code experts in the fire trades.
In presenting the award during the association's annual convention in Orlando, AAF Executive Director Bob Neely noted that more than his technical expertise and credentials established through many years of study, dedication and on-the-job performance, Josh's professional demeanor and tremendous ability to network with suppliers and Agencies Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) have advanced the industry and its people.
"Josh was instrumental involving the AAF in the outstanding state college technician training program now an established part of our professional commitment to education and training in Florida. It assures that burglar and fire alarm agents graduating from the program have the skills to be 'truck ready' to do the job," said Neely.
The award recognition came as a complete surprise to Wolk who has dedicated nights, weekends and holidays to teaching courses and developing the curriculum for the state's first true college apprenticeship program for the trade.
"I'm floored by this award in an industry that takes partnerships to grow and succeed. This is truly an honor," Wolk said.
AAF is the provider of record for the Burglar Alarm Systems Agent (BASA) and Fire Alarm Systems Agent (FASA) classes and course certifications and reports that virtually all students completing the courses had job offers upon graduation.
