Company Welcomes Ashley Horvat to Lead Division as VP of Strategic Initiatives
VENICE, Calif., July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric vehicle software and information services company Recargo Inc. today introduces PlugShare Guide, a new plug-in vehicle consulting service for the EV industry. PlugShare Guide will develop strategies, policies and plans for assessing, promoting, installing and managing EV infrastructure as well as strategies to accelerate EV adoption using the company's rich market intelligence, proprietary research and analytical tools.
As part of the announcement, the company introduces Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Ashley Horvat, the former Chief EV Officer of the State of Oregon, who will lead the new division from the company's offices in Portland, Oregon. Tomorrow, July 29, 2015, Horvat will publicly debut her role with the company at the EV Roadmap Conference, one of the leading electric vehicle conferences in the United States. She will join representatives from Honda, Ford, Tesla, and ChargePoint in contributing to a panel on the next generation of long range EVs and their fast charging requirements.
PlugShare Guide's initial undertaking is a project with Pacific Gas & Electric to analyze and recommend a layout of fast charging infrastructure across the utility's service area, in partnership with Energy + Environmental Economics (E3) and U.C. Davis. PlugShare Guide and E3 will also partner with Seattle City Light (SCL) to evaluate EV opportunities in SCL territory.
In addition, Horvat will help Kia Motors launch the Kia Soul EV in the Pacific Northwest at Plug & Pinot 2015, a concept she developed in partnership with the Oregon Wine Country EV Byway Alliance. PlugShare Guide will also help develop and launch EV tourism initiatives with Travel Oregon.
"PlugShare Guide is part of our continuing effort to amplify the voice of EV drivers to aid automakers, utilities, regulators, and the plug-in community," said PlugShare CEO Brian Kariger. "By furthering the impact of our research capabilities with consulting services, PlugShare Guide will take a further step to help utilities and other stakeholders determine actionable objectives to expand much-needed EV infrastructure."
Horvat's background in EV policy and government will be a strong asset in developing custom solutions for PlugShare Guide clients. "PlugShare Guide will address the unique challenges of stakeholders at all levels of engagement," Brian Kariger said. "As our Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Ashley brings an expertise in implementing new policies that will help us broadly grow and enhance plug-in vehicle adoption."
As Chief EV Officer of Oregon, Horvat was one of the main authors of the multi-state ZEV Action Plan, chaired the public-private Energize Oregon Coalition, coordinated EV actions between state agencies, created and implemented public-private partnership EV initiatives such as the Oregon Electric Byways, and led all EV infrastructure programs for the state. Prior to that appointment, Horvat designed and implemented the West Coast Electric Highway program in Oregon, which included 44 DCFC locations throughout the state. In addition to managing EV projects, she also has experience managing large scale solar and other renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
