Real Estate Florida Magazine Recognizes Akerman's Silvia Alderman as one of Florida's 'Women of Influence'
Ms. Alderman is the Only Lawyer of 20 Honorees
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Akerman Senterfitt's Silvia Alderman has been selected by Real Estate Florida magazine as one of Florida's "Women of Influence", and is the sole lawyer represented of the 20 honorees. Ms. Alderman, who is Managing Shareholder of the firm's Tallahassee office, is one of only four women in Florida serving as an Office Managing Shareholder for the state's three largest law firms. In 2008, Akerman shareholders Cecelia Bonifay and Theresa McLaughlin were also recognized by Real Estate Florida in this category.
"A leader in her field, Silvia Alderman has earned this noteworthy distinction from Real Estate Florida magazine," said Richard Bezold, Chair of Akerman's Real Estate practice. "We are very pleased that Akerman's real estate and environmental lawyers continue to be recognized by the industry."
Ms. Alderman has over thirty years of experience representing regulated interests in environmental and land use matters. She previously served as Deputy General Counsel of the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation (now DEP). Ms. Alderman is well known for her work with water resources and wastewater regulation and serves as state-wide wetlands and threatened and endangered species counsel for a Fortune 10 company. Board certified by The Florida Bar in State and Federal Government and Administrative practice, Ms. Alderman is also one of the few lawyers recently recognized as a leading environmental lawyer in Florida by Chambers USA and by The Best Lawyers in America.
Prior "Women of Influence" honorees include Cecelia Bonifay, Chair of Akerman's Green and Sustainable Development practice and a shareholder in the firm's Orlando office, and Theresa McLaughlin, Chair of Akerman's Retail Leasing and Development practice and a shareholder in the firm's Fort Lauderdale office.
