Rdio to Record SXSW Sessions with Ty Dolla $ign, Tensnake, David Nail and Other Notable, Rising Artists
SAN FRANCISCO, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Rdio, the groundbreaking digital music service that is reinventing the way people discover, play and share music today unveiled its lineup of artists who will record exclusive Rdio Sessions at SXSW Music 2014. These acts include up-and-coming artists -- Haerts, Tensnake, and Strange Talk, all of which are part of Rdio's Artists to Watch list, featuring 20 handpicked musicians and bands that Rdio anticipates to break through in 2014.

SXSW Artists Recording Rdio Sessions
Rdio Sessions is an ongoing program dedicated to capturing dynamic live performances by established and breaking artists from around the world. The SXSW Rdio Sessions will be recorded and then made available, exclusively on Rdio.
- Lucius - Berklee College of Music voice majors Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig make up the Brooklyn-based indie pop quintet Lucius.
- Ty Dolla $ign – Ty is a Los Angeles-based singer, rapper, songwriter, producer and multi- instrumentalist.
- David Nail - Born and raised in Kennett, Missouri, David is a country singer songwriter with recent the hit single, "Whatever She's Got" which made it to Billboard's country airplay number one spot.
- Bad Suns - Comprising vocalist Christo Bowman, drummer Miles Morris, guitarist Ray Libby, and bassist Gavin Bennett, Bad Suns formed in 2012 in Woodland Hills, California.
- Haerts – The long-distance collaborative project Haerts came into formation when childhood friends Nini Fabi and Ben Gebert started working on music together in a small apartment in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.
- Tensnake – The electro producer Tensnake from Hamburg, Germany recently released the single "Love Sublime" featuring Nile Rodgers of Chic and known for his work with Daft Punk.
- Strange Talk - An Australian synthpop band from Melbourne, Victoria, Strange Talk consists of Gerard Sidhu, Stephen Docker, Travis Constable and Gillan Gregory. The band will be releasing their debut album Cast Away in 2014.
The Man vs. Machine: The Curation Dilemma Panel
In addition to Rdio Sessions, Rdio's Vice President of Product, Chris Becherer will be speaking at SXSW on a music industry panel entitled, "Man vs. Machine: The Curation Dilemma" focused on the dynamic changes that are happening with music discovery.
