MANKATO, Minn., Jan. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced plans to relocate its Mankato campus to a brand-new facility in winter 2018. The new facility will be located at 1400 Madison Avenue within an existing business center — about a mile from its current location. The campus will include large high-tech classrooms, new computer labs and equipment, updated health sciences and nursing labs as well as expanded student learning and faculty spaces. Construction on the new campus is expected to begin in spring 2017.
"Rasmussen College is committed to providing an enhanced learning experience for our students," said Kathy Sanger, campus director, Rasmussen College Mankato. "Over the years, as the demand for quality healthcare professionals has grown, we've seen our residential student population shift to more health sciences and nursing students. Our new campus gives the College an opportunity to better serve these students and prepare them for the complex healthcare environments they will be called to work in upon graduation. We are extremely excited to bring a new and updated campus to Mankato and its surrounding communities — an area Rasmussen College has proudly served for more than 30 years."
Rasmussen College Familiar with New Location
The site of the new campus is familiar to Rasmussen College staff, faculty and alumni. Before moving to its current location at 130 Saint Andrews Drive in 2007, the Mankato campus was located near what is now well-known Madison Avenue, an area that has seen tremendous growth over the past decade with new business development and road construction. The current campus, which serves more than 600 students in seven schools of study, including health sciences, nursing, business, justice studies, education, technology and design, will remain open until the new campus is ready to serve students.
"We are excited to return to Madison Avenue and be a part of a popular and growing area in Mankato," Sanger said. "Our students, faculty and staff will soon have easy access to restaurants and other services within walking distance. The College will also be closer to some of our healthcare employer partners. We're confident the new campus will positively impact our students and the entire Mankato community."
