Rapid Capital Funding Supports Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan Event
The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan held its annual Summer Stroll for Epilepsy at the Detroit Zoo
MIAMI, June 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, June 8, 2013, the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan held its annual Summer Stroll for Epilepsy at the Detroit Zoo. Rapid Capital Funding's CEO, Craig Hecker, donated $5,000 to support his sister's team, "BrainThunders", funds that go directly to support the Foundation and its programs.
Hecker, has a very personal connection to the neurological disorder, epilepsy, and to those who live with the condition. His sister, Alysse (Hecker) Mengason was diagnosed in early 2003 after a long illness.
"For more than a decade, I've watched my sister struggle with epilepsy. After six surgeries and watching her suffer thousands of seizures, this organization is very close to my heart," said Hecker. "Alysse has committed to advocating for the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan and to help those who are far less fortunate than she is when it comes to living with the illness."
Hecker was born and raised in the Detroit area. His sister and her family are residents of the Detroit suburb, Birmingham.
"This is a cause, an organization that myself and my family are fully committed to," said Hecker. "I was honored to help in any way I could. Over the years, with Alysse, I've met thousands of people, young and old, who live with epilepsy. I admire their perseverance and their stamina and their commitment to finding a cure. I'm honored to be part of this."
