SAN DIEGO, Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Quippi, the first International Shopping Card, launched today empowering immigrants living in the U.S. to make the most of their hard-earned money and support their loved ones abroad. This fee-free, fast, secure and convenient international service is available for purchase in California and Texas, and can be redeemed at participating retailers throughout Mexico, such as Chedraui grocery and Coppel department stores.
Quippi cards, offered in denominations of $25, $50 and $100, can be purchased at www.quippi.com with a credit card, debit card or cash. Cash purchases can be completed in participating 7-Eleven® and ACE Cash Express® stores via PayNearMe, the electronic cash-transaction network. Quippi cards can also be purchased at thousands of independent retailers that offer prepaid products. Upon purchase, consumers receive a unique Quippi PIN code to share with their intended recipients abroad via phone, text message or email. This code can be immediately redeemed at Chedraui and Coppel stores throughout Mexico. Additional retail partners will be announced soon.
"Millions of hardworking individuals in the U.S. support their families back in their home country, but it costs them far too much to do so," said Michael Aleles, founder and CEO of Quippi. "As the first International Shopping Card in the market, Quippi was created to offer a better service that enables consumers to take care of their families abroad without having to pay additional fees or deal with delays. It's exciting to see how much money we can help our consumers save."
Quippi offers numerous benefits to consumers in the U.S. and Mexico, including:
- Fee-free – no commissions or hidden charges for the purchaser in the U.S. or the recipient in Mexico
- Easy to purchase – consumers only need to provide their name and a valid email address at the time of purchase
- Fast and secure to redeem – since transactions are completed in real time, recipients in Mexico can go shopping as soon as they receive the Quippi PIN code from their loved ones in the U.S.
- Convenient – Quippi cards are redeemable for thousands of items at participating retail partners across Mexico. In addition, Quippi PIN codes never expire, and the purchaser can easily track their purchases at www.quippi.com
"Consumers today are looking for quick, convenient and secure options that help them make the most of their money," said Kunal Kumar, VP of Business Development at PayNearMe. "Just as we make people's lives easier by allowing them to pay for online purchases with cash at thousands of 7-Eleven and ACE Cash Express locations across the U.S., Quippi is breaking down barriers by making it convenient for consumers to help their loved ones and share their financial resources across borders."
"With Quippi and Coppel, now you can support your loved ones back in Mexico quickly, easily and safely," commented Juan Carlos Rubalcaba, Director of New Business at Grupo Coppel.
As part of Quippi's mission to empower consumers, the company has also launched The Quippi Ambassador Program, a network of everyday consumers who earn commissions for referring their families, friends and acquaintances to Quippi.
