PwC Appoints John Farina as Market Managing Partner for Boston and Northeast
BOSTON, March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that John Farina has been appointed as managing partner of the professional services firm's Northeast Market, effective May 1, 2015. In this role, Farina will lead more than 3,400 professionals in delivering assurance and audit, tax and consulting services to clients in the Boston and Hartford offices. The Northeast is the second largest market for PwC in the US. Farina succeeds Barry Nearhos, who is retiring from the firm after serving the market for the past 35 years, including seven very successful years as the managing partner.

Since 2008, Farina has led PwC's Northeast Tax practice which has grown from approximately 600 partners and staff in 2008 to over 800 today. He previously served as PwC's US Insurance Sector Tax Leader and also serves on PwC's US and Global Boards. Farina was admitted to the partnership in 1998 and is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts and Texas.
Farina lives with his wife and three sons in the Boston area and is an active member of the community both personally and professionally. He is visible in the marketplace through his work on the Board of Trustees for the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation and is a proud four-time rider in the Pan-Mass Challenge, of which PwC is a major sponsor.
