PURELL® Brand Expands Beyond Hand Sanitizer - Offering Businesses More Solutions That Are Safe, Effective and Good for People and the Planet
New PURELL® high performance, non-antibacterial soap and dispensing technology with energy-on-the-refill introduced at ISSA
AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GOJO introduced the expansion of the PURELL® brand with a complete portfolio of solutions at the International Sanitary Services Association (ISSA) Trade Show in Las Vegas. The PURELL SOLUTION™ offers breakthrough soap and surface spray formulations and game-changing dispenser technology to more holistically fight the spread of germs in facilities and help keep employees, patrons, students and patients healthier.
"The PURELL® brand has become very meaningful to people over the past 30 years," said Carey Jaros, GOJO Chief Strategy Officer. "It has come to stand for effective, safe and also good for you – it contributes to public health and the positive perception of the facilities that care enough to provide their employees and patrons with PURELL® products. The launch of the new PURELL SOLUTION™ right now is the culmination of our many years of our passionate commitment, hard work and inventiveness. We couldn't be more proud or excited to introduce the PURELL SOLUTION™ to the world."
PURELL® brand HEALTHY SOAP® products with CLEAN RELEASE™ Technology and PURELL® ES8 Dispensing Systems with energy-on-the-refill were two PURELL SOLUTION™ innovations launched at ISSA.
HEALTHY SOAP® products with CLEAN RELEASE™ Technology
The new breakthrough CLEAN RELEASE™ Technology boosts soap performance with its novel surfactant system that reaches deeper into skin's cracks and crevices to gently remove more dirt and germs than regular soap.1,2 Formulated for dry and sensitive skin, the new soaps are also free of the most common causes of severe skin irritation.
"Harsh preservatives and antibacterial ingredients are the leading cause of severe skin irritation," said Dr. Matthew Zirwas, board-certified dermatologist specializing in occupational and contact dermatitis. "I see patients every week with severely damaged skin caused by these irritants. It is a true breakthrough for a soap to be free of these ingredients and still be a high performing product for critical settings, such as healthcare, foodservice, education and office buildings."
PURELL® brand HEALTHY SOAP® products with CLEAN RELEASE™ Technology soaps are free of harsh preservatives, antibacterial ingredients, parabens and phthalates. The new soap formulations are environmentally responsible, with 90 percent bio-based content far exceeding the 64 percent standard for bio-based handwashes. They rinse faster and cleaner, saving an estimated six gallons of water per refill compared to regular soap.3
PURELL® ES8 Touch-Free Dispensing System
GOJO also launched new PURELL® ES8 touch-free dispensing systems that address the two most common service issues – worn out batteries and empty dispensers.
PURELL® ES8 dispensers eliminate the hassle of battery changeouts through breakthrough energy-on-the-refill technology. Each new refill comes with its own energy source – a coin cell battery that's integrated into the refill. When facility personnel replace the empty refill, the dispenser gets fresh product and fresh energy in one simple step.
Identifying when it is time to replace a refill in the PURELL® ES8 system is easy. The systems' AT-A-GLANCE™ refill design lets housekeeping personnel monitor product levels with just one look. It's quick and easy to see which dispensers need attention, eliminating potential complaints about empty dispensers. All PURELL® ES8 dispensers can be integrated with optional GOJO SMARTLINK™ plug-in modules to track hand hygiene compliance, receive alerts when dispensers need service, or add other upgrades as technology evolves.
Built for sustainable performance, the PURELL® ES8 systems represents a 68 percent reduction in battery waste and a 15 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions when compared to leading touch-free systems on the market.
The PURELL® ES8 Dispensing System and PURELL® brand HEALTHY SOAP® products with CLEAN RELEASE™ Technology are part of the PURELL SOLUTION™, a complete set of products to more holistically fight the spread of germs in a facility. It includes PURELL® Hand Sanitizer, PURELL® Brand HEALTHY SOAP® products, PURELL® Hand Sanitizing Wipes and PURELL® Surface Disinfectant. These products are scientifically formulated for no-trade-off protection, so facility managers never have to choose between providing products that are effective and products people feel great about using.
"I have been in the industry for 26 years and this is the biggest innovation I have ever seen in hand hygiene," said Steve Schultz, GOJO North American and International President. "To solve the two biggest pain points in dispensing – dead batteries and empty refills – to create an entirely new category of soap – with CLEAN RELEASE™ Technology – and to do all of that under the iconic PURELL® brand is a total game-changer. Our booth was swarmed with people throughout ISSA. The excitement is palpable! And it's just the beginning, as we take the PURELL SOLUTION to market nationally."
