Pure Tech Plastics is Green and Growing
Pure Tech Plastics expands plant operations, nearly triples business to deliver 35 million pounds of PET annually
CHICAGO, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- In a time when companies are cutting back, Pure Tech Plastics is investing, growing, and creating jobs in a green industry. Today Pure Tech announced a production line upgrade, an expanded Quality Assurance Lab, six new employees, and a move to 24/7 operations at its East Farmingdale, NY location. These changes mark more than $1.5 million dollar investment in the business and its customers.
Pure Tech's CEO, David Bender, said "Our customers will reap the benefits and get the biggest return on investment from our changes. Yesterday we could deliver 12 million pounds of recycled product annually. Today, we have nearly tripled that amount to nearly 35 million. We are green and growing."
Pure Tech redesigned its washline to offer continuous batch washing, which enables greater output of high-quality, FDA food packaging and bottle grade flake. The redesign features a patent-pending microprocessor, which uses special liquid control and high-powered washing to deliver a consistent, high-quality product.
Bender said, "We will always invest in quality for our customers."
The plant also renovated existing equipment, acquired additional bottle grinders, increased capabilities for metal separation, and invested in an automated screen changer. These upgrades allow Pure Tech to meet and exceed the highest industry standards and deliver even more, high-quality product to its customers.
Of the six new posts created, two are responsible for Quality Assurance at Pure Tech. Changes in the Q.A. lab, new equipment, and people focused on quality are already delivering results. Today Pure Tech is the leading provider of FDA flake, a high-quality product that saves customers nearly 20% by providing FDA quality without solid stating.
Continued improvements and additional expansion are planned for later in 2010.
