PSCH, Inc. selects Sense Health to power mobile communication for behavioral health
NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PSCH, Inc. and Sense Health have partnered to bring mobile communication to PSCH's ACT program. ACT (Assertive Community Treatment), a Medicaid-funded program, provides a multidisciplinary approach to serving consumers with severe mental illness. Sense Health's patient engagement technology enhances a care team's ability to provide personalized, outcomes-driven support for growing patient caseloads through two-way text messaging and care coordination features.
Sense Health adds another level of intensity to the ACT model, allowing consumers to have an additional channel to access their care providers and information about wellness. PSCH has found that its consumers are increasingly asking for mobile communication with their care team to supplement in-person interactions.
"Utilizing technology to support this hard-to-reach population is critical to providing efficient state of the art care," said Alan Weinstock, CEO of PSCH. "Partnering ACT with Sense Health will help consumers stay in the community, out of the hospital, motivate consumers to focus on wellness, and help them move on to a lower level of care, faster."
Over the past two years Sense Health has worked with programs for high-needs Medicaid patients, including Medicaid Health Homes, to apply technology to help care managers efficiently support growing caseloads of high-needs patients. "We are excited to expand the use of Sense Health to teams supporting ACT consumers, one of the more vulnerable and hard to reach populations that behavioral health providers care for," said Stan Berkow, CEO of Sense Health.
This partnership comes as New York State recently transitioned behavioral healthcare services away from fee-for-service into Managed Medicaid 'to achieve measurable improvement in health outcomes, sustainable cost control, and a more efficient administrative structure.'
