Provocative Documentary Greedy Lying Bastards Nabs Daryl Hannah as Executive Producer
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dedicated environmentalist and well-known film star Daryl Hannah has signed on as Executive Producer to the documentary Greedy Lying Bastards, scheduled for wide release this year. The expose presents a searing indictment of the influence, deceit and corruption that defines the fossil fuel industry. Known for her spectacular work in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill film series, Daryl will appear in the third feature set for release in 2014.
In making the announcement, investigative filmmaker Craig Rosebraugh said, "Daryl is a gifted actress with an impressive commitment to environmental protection. We are elated to have her on the project."
Author and political activist-turned filmmaker Rosebraugh documents the impact of an industry that has continually put profits before people, waged a campaign of lies designed to thwart measures to combat climate change, used its clout to minimize infringing regulations and undermined the political process in the U.S. and abroad. Rosebraugh has just announced he is near completion of the film-his first-that he started shooting in fall 2009. Privately financed, Rosebraugh, who has also just earned his law degree, estimates his production budget at $1.5 million.
