NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading national plaintiffs' firm Seeger Weiss LLP announced today that Jennifer Scullion, a 20-year litigation veteran and formerly a partner at Proskauer Rose, has joined the firm as partner in its New York office.
Scullion has led complex litigations, arbitrations, and appeals for U.S. and multinational clients in a wide array of areas, including antitrust, consumer fraud, communications, and international bondholder disputes. She also has deep experience in class actions on both the plaintiff and defense side, as well as in federal regulatory proceedings.
"Like many of our lawyers, Jennifer has built her legal career on successfully handling a broad range of commercial litigation matters for a big defense firm. Her experience handling multiple jury and bench trials to verdict, including antitrust and communications law, helps us further distinguish ourselves as a plaintiffs' firm capable of going toe-to-toe with the most prominent defense firms in the profession," says Seeger Weiss founding partner Stephen Weiss.
"Seeger Weiss has built its reputation on the outstanding trial experience of our lawyers and the stellar results they've obtained for our clients," says Seeger Weiss founding partner Christopher Seeger. "Jennifer's broad experience trying and litigating complex commercial cases is a perfect fit for us as we take on more high-profile cases of national gravity."
"Seeger Weiss is widely known as having some of the most exceptional and talented trial lawyers in the country," Scullion says. "They are respected for their skill and integrity not just by their clients, but by the bar and the judges. The firm has made a name for itself one trial victory at a time, and I'm excited to be a part of this powerhouse litigation firm."
Scullion was with Proskauer Rose for 13 years, the past seven as a partner, following positions with Solomon, Zauderer, Ellenhorn, Frischer & Sharp and Munger, Tolles & Olson.
A prolific author, Scullion regularly contributes articles to the National Law Review, Law360, and other journals and blogs. She is also the author of two chapters on international civil litigation in an upcoming ABA book and co-author of numerous PLC Practice Notes on international litigation in U.S. courts.
Scullion graduated from Boston University in 1991, summa cum laude, with a degree in English literature. She earned her law degree from UCLA in 1995, graduating in the top five of her class and receiving Order of the Coif honors. After law school, she clerked for U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson in the Central District of California.
In addition to her commercial litigation practice, Scullion has an active pro bono practice focusing on election law and voting rights. Since 2007, she has worked with the nationwide Election Protection coalition in each general election.
She serves as a trustee of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. She also is a board member of the Three and a Half Acres Foundation, a community organization serving clients in the Harlem area of New York City.
