Professional Kitchens is Cooking Up a Storm With its New Catering Equipment Website!
SWADLINCOTE, England, November 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
A commercial kitchen design consultancy has its sights set on UK and European expansion after launching an online catering equipment shop.
Swadlincote-based Professional Kitchens Ltd is a one-stop shop for kitchen planning and contract management with many years of experience in commercial kitchen design and manufacture specialising in universities and consultancy for schools.
Founders Duncan Measham and Slawek Krysa had noticed an increasing demand for the manufacture of bespoke stainless metal fabrication, which is notoriously difficult to design and specify and earlier this year they invested £210,000 in new plant and machinery this in-house to improve efficiencies.
The business is expanding and is currently looking for two sales and admin staff. They will also be looking to recruit further in January for positions in the factory.
"As the business expands we are planning to invest the same amount again in new machinery to aid the manufacture and cost effectiveness of our products," said Duncan, who has 36 years' experience in the industry.
Now they have launched an online store http://www.professionalkitchens.co.uk to reach out to new markets selling stainless steel products such as sinks, tables, food display, warewashing and racking where customers can either purchase via them or directly with suppliers.
And to keep ahead of the competition Professional Kitchens is also introducing cutting edge technology into its products to transform their efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint by 25%.
A broad range of energy efficient new product solutions, such as ultra-sonic warewashing, sanitation using UV light, and electro-magnetic induction portal heating to allow rapid cooking and heating are currently in development.
Duncan added: "We are investing heavily in product design to develop an exciting new range which introduces the very latest energy saving technology. They will be on the market within 18 months."
He added: "We have set ourselves a target of making our products greener. We are reducing the carbon footprint in terms of electrical loading by 25%."
The family-run firm is currently working on six library projects in the East Midlands, transforming them into innovative community hubs with coffee shops and catering.
Duncan explained that customers often come with a set of problems like asking for a kitchen that can cook 8,000 pizzas in an hour or provide 50 meals over two hours.
"We can help them choose the right equipment to achieve this and can advise on the way the kitchen should be designed to maximise workflow and efficiency and avoid accidents.
"We design it and install it or they can buy off the shelf. We can provide everything from a stick blender to a full kitchen and we walk you through all of the ventilation and cleaning requirements and standards which are mandatory in catering establishments."
The partners aim to achieve a £2m turnover in the next 18 months and are considering expansion into European markets.
