FREMONT, Calif., Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Procera Networks, Inc., the global Subscriber Experience company, today announced that Vice President of Global Marketing Cam Cullen will deliver a presentation at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® on how to "Fight Back Against the ISP Scorecards," Tuesday, October 13 at 3:15 p.m. CDT in Rooms 267-268.
The session will uncover different viewpoints on how to measure and quantify video traffic over cable broadband networks and delve into new ways to test and score IP video traffic that improve subscribers' Quality of Experience (QoE). Cullen's workshop session is part the Next-Generation Services Track titled, "Evolving from QoS to QoE," and will be moderated by Comcast's Senior Vice President of Network Engineering Kevin McElearney.
Netflix's ISP Speed Index and Google's Video Quality Report are the most commonly used by multi-system operators (MSOs) today to measure subscriber experience. However, speed alone is not the best indicator to measure and implement strategies to deliver enhanced subscriber Quality of Experience (QoE). Cullen will examine alternative methods for defining the subscriber experience with network scoring systems based on data visualized using multiple perspectives for various audiences within an operator. His presentation will explore scoring systems that provide a more robust view into the entire network by allowing MSOs to filter QoE by specific locations, service plans, applications and connection types.
Taking place October 13-16 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2015 will bring together nearly 10,000 key influencers and more than 375 companies at one of the industry's leading technical knowledge exchanges for cable operators across the globe.
