COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Print Syndicate, a leading apparel and home goods e-commerce company, today announced that it closed a $4.25 million Series A funding round led by Data Point Capital, the fund started by Shoebuy.com founder and online retail expert Scott Savitz. Also joining in the round is Lightbank Capital, started by Groupon founders Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell, and Vegas Tech Fund, created by Tony Hsieh, known for building Zappos into the internet mega-store ultimately purchased by Amazon. Additional investors include CNF Investments and TechColumbus. The new capital will be used to fuel Print Syndicate's rapid growth, production capacity and build out the senior management team as the company marches toward projected 300 percent year-over-year growth for 2014.
Print Syndicate's "Just in Time Model" leverages real-time design based off of social media trends to develop its products. The company's internal social media experts spot these trends before they go viral and quickly turn them into art for apparel and home goods that reflect consumers' pop culture passions, and desire for original expression.
Print Syndicate's portfolio consists of fun, quirky retail sites including LookHuman.com, ActivateApparel.com and MericaMade.com, which have helped the company create a culture of humor and creativity while gaining tremendous financial success.
"Print Syndicate is heading into 2015 with remarkable growth and momentum as more shoppers respond to products that reflect the memes and timely topics in their lives," said Tanisha Robinson, CEO and co-founder of Print Syndicate. "The investment will help us to continue to scale and solidify our position as a household brand."
Print Syndicate was founded by Robinson and Michael Limes in 2012 with the goal of creating a business centered on self-expression, encouraging consumers to showcase their unique personalities and styles by literally wearing it on their sleeves. The company taps talented local graphic designers and artists to create its high quality, timely and often sarcastic designs.
"Our firm invests in game changers who leverage and scale on the Internet. Print Syndicate built a pioneering e-commerce business over the last two years that we believe will transform how products are created, marketed and sold in our social media culture. It's a perfect example of how businesses can offer a better, more relevant buying experience through innovation," says Savitz. "We are excited to work with the executive team to help them continue on their massively successful path."
