Prime Healthcare Services Converts Montclair Hospital Medical Center to Non-Profit Hospital
ONTARIO, Calif., Jan. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. ("Prime Healthcare") donated 100% of its ownership interest in Montclair Hospital Medical Center ("Montclair Hospital"), a 102 bed acute care hospital which was ranked among the Top 100 Hospitals® in 2009, to the Prime Healthcare Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity effective December 31, 2010. As a result of Prime Healthcare's donation, Montclair Hospital, like Encino Hospital Medical Center, will be operated as a non-profit hospital under the Prime Healthcare Foundation umbrella.
"Prime Healthcare has always been committed to the communities it serves and the decision to convert Montclair Hospital to a non-profit hospital, like the decision to convert Encino Hospital Medical Center in 2009, was based on our desire to better serve the residents of Montclair and the surrounding communities who rely on Montclair Hospital for quality healthcare," said Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, FCCP, Prime Healthcare's Chairman of the Board and founder of Prime Healthcare Foundation.
Congressman Gary Miller commended Prem Reddy and the Prime Healthcare Company for its good medical practices and its commitment to our community. "Prime Healthcare is one of California's leaders in providing quality medical care to our residents. Its patient centered, physician led model ensures the best quality medical care."
"All of us at Montclair Hospital look forward to operating as a non-profit subsidiary of the Prime Healthcare Foundation and continuing to provide excellent care to all members of the community," said Gregory Brentano, Montclair Hospital's Chief Executive Officer.
