Press Advisory: McDonald Case Plaintiffs to Hold Press Conference at Chicago Police Department Headquarters Prior to Submitting Gun License Applications and Registering Their Weapons

CHICAGO, July 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the Illinois State Rifle Association:

WHAT:  Press event to publicize the McDonald Case plaintiffs applying for Chicago Firearm Licenses and registering their weapons under Chicago's new handgun ownership ordinance.

WHEN:  Monday, July 26, 2010, 9:00 AM

WHERE:  Chicago Police Department Headquarters, 3510 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL

WHO:  McDonald Case Plaintiffs: Otis McDonald; Colleen Lawson; David Lawson; and Adam Orlov.  Also available for comment will be Illinois State Rifle Association Executive Director, Richard Pearson.

In 2008, these plaintiffs along with the Second Amendment Foundation and the Illinois State Rifle Association filed a civil rights lawsuit against the city, that culminated in the recent Supreme Court decision which has ultimately allowed these individual plaintiffs and enabled millions of other Chicago residents to own a handgun in their home for the defense of themselves and their families.
