Presale Shopping Tour Launches Paris Winter Fashion Sales
Printemps Department Store Offers Advance Discounts to Elite Group of Savvy U.S. Shoppers
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- American fashionistas looking to get a Chanel-clad leg up on the hordes of foreign bargain hunters heading to the winter sales in Paris can kick off their Manolo Blahnik heels and relax.
For the first time ever, the city's trendsetting department store Printemps is offering an exclusive pre-sale event of its high-end fashions, designer accessories and luxury beauty products to a small group of U.S. shoppers that sign up for Wise Incentives' "Paris on Sale!" tour.
"This is a once-in-a-life-time opportunity that savvy shoppers and designer-label fashion seekers won't want to miss," says organizer Rich Wise of Wise Incentives.
His San Diego-based boutique travel and tour company is coordinating the preeminent Printemps event (that includes tips from the store's personal shopper and a preview of spring and summer lines) as part of a grander six-day tour of "some of the best-kept shopping secrets in Paris" scheduled for Jan. 10 to 16.
This week is the start of the month-long winter "soldes" (sales) that attract fashion-minded shoppers from around the world to the more than 2,000 retail shops and designer showrooms that liquidate their collections at reductions of up to 70 percent.
"Whether you're looking for that perfect Valentino cocktail dress or monogrammed Yves Delorme bed linen, the Printemps pre-sale shopping means no long lines, frenzied crowds or picked over merchandise," says Wise.
Along with deeply discounted pricing a day in advance of the public sale, Wise's special shopping entourage also will receive a VIP card that offers further reductions throughout the week as well as "carnet d'achat" -- or hands-free shopping -- that holds selected merchandise, tallies the final bill for all purchases and delivers neatly wrapped packages back to the hotel.
In addition to this sublime shopping experience, Wise will take the group on a handful of other fashion and gastronomic excursions such as a rare champagne tasting, chocolate sampling at Maison du Chocolat, mustard tasting at Maille, tea at Laduree on Rue Royale, a bistro dinner in the Bastille and shoe shopping at trendy boutiques known only to Parisians.
Shoppers will stay at the Hotel Castille Paris, a charming boutique hotel on Rue Cambon, in the city's most fashionable neighborhood surrounded by some of the most celebrated names in haute couture including Chanel, Hermes, Longchamp and Faconnable.
Cost is $1,855 per person based on double occupancy or $2,899 for single occupancy. Airfare and ground transportation from the airport are not included, but can be arranged through Wise Incentives.
Reservations are limited to 15 rooms (or a maximum of 30 people) and must be made no later than Dec. 17.
