SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Practice Fusion, the country's largest cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) platform, today announced the addition to its executive team of Tom Langan as the company's chief commercial officer and Joe Priest as the company's vice president of pharmaceutical partnerships. On the heels of Practice Fusion's recent hire of Robert Park as its chief financial officer, this marks a further expansion of the company's executive bench. With the addition of two industry veterans, these hires are a sign of the company's commitment to continue growing its offerings for enterprise partners.
Langan joins Practice Fusion from Symphony Health Solutions, where he served as its chief commercial officer. Langan also previously served as the chief commercial officer of MediMedia. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Fordham University.
Priest comes to Practice Fusion from SDI Health, where he served as its vice president and general manager of hospital analytics and healthcare profiles. Prior to SDI, Priest occupied executive roles at Solucient, LLC and NDC Health. Priest holds a bachelor's degree with concentrations in economics and marketing from Boston College.
As CCO, Langan will lead the teams responsible for attracting new partners and driving new opportunities to leverage the Practice Fusion platform to foster greater partnerships among key healthcare ecosystem participants. He will report directly to Practice Fusion's CEO, Ryan Howard. As Vice President of Pharmaceutical Partnerships, Priest will report to Langan, working with Practice Fusion's executive team to develop strategic partnerships and new solutions with pharmaceutical manufacturers to engage with the company's suite of data, analytics and solutions, including the recently launched Insight platform.
"Pharmaceutical companies are more tech-savvy today than ever before," said Ryan Howard, founder and CEO, Practice Fusion. "With 91 million patient records on our platform and more than five million patient visits each month, Practice Fusion is one of the richest sources of healthcare data and analysis in the world. Pharma companies and other players in the healthcare ecosystem know that we offer new tools to better understand data that has traditionally been siloed across the country. Both Tom and Joe will be instrumental in making sure that we're capitalizing on this tremendous opportunity."
