Power Home Remodeling Group™ CSO Named to Philadelphia Business Journal 40 Under 40
Asher Raphael recognized for leading company's phenomenal growth and new community relations program for Chester youth
CHESTER, Pa., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Asher Raphael, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Power Home Remodeling Group, the nation's fourth largest home remodeling company, has been named a 2011 "40 Under 40" winner by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The 40 Under 40 Award recognizes 40 people, under the age of 40, for their professional accomplishments and community involvement — representing the best and brightest of the region's business community.
As CSO, Raphael is responsible for overseeing Power's strategic direction and growth plans; looking for any voids in the business and new opportunities from a product and services standpoint; new market expansions; and the critical recruitment of talent. Raphael has been instrumental in driving Power's rapid growth — including a phenomenal three-year growth of 367 percent even through the economic downturn. Raphael helped develop Power's strategic growth and expansion plan including the company's relocation in January to new state-of-the-art headquarters at the Wharf in Rivertown in Chester, Pa. The company also plans to launch into three new markets in 2011 and is projected to add another 100 jobs in the Philadelphia region and 400 up and down the East Coast with a focus on green products and energy efficient, environmentally friendly home solutions.
"I cannot be more proud of Asher. To be honest, his election to the prestigious 40 Under 40 comes as no surprise. He is talented, hard working, intelligent, and is a focused, strong leader. This is the first of what I expect to be many recognitions for Asher. He has been instrumental in driving our executive team, and his strategic planning and vision will position us solidly for the future," commented Jeff Kaliner, co-founder and chief executive officer at Power.
Raphael has also been instrumental in the development of Power's new community relations program called "Power University." Launching in September in partnership with the Chester Upland School District, Delaware County Community College, Chester Youth Collaborative and the Chester Education Foundation, the program will involve outreach to local Chester youth, providing them with skills-based business and marketing courses and mentorship programs. The program will expose students to real-life business skills that will open the doors to future job opportunities — at Power or whatever field they choose.
Now in its 21st year, the 40 Under 40 program is a competitive contest that routinely attracts top-flight nominations from some of the most prestigious firms and ambitious startups in the region. The 2011 winners were selected by an editorial team from more than 300 nominations.
Raphael along with the other 40 Under 40 winners will be recognized today at the Awards gala in Philadelphia. They are profiled in the May 13 issue of the Philadelphia Business Journal. The full list of winners is available at BizJournals.com/Philadelphia.
