Plenty Of Fish Brings Dating To The Google Assistant
Plenty of Fish users can now easily retrieve unread messages and send responses via the Assistant on Google Home and phones
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Plenty of Fish (POF), one of the largest global online dating companies with more conversations than any other dating app, today announced an industry-first integration for a dating app with the Google Assistant on Google Home, eligible on Android devices and iPhones. The voice integration allows users to ask the Google Assistant if they have new messages, which it will then read aloud to the individual as they go about their daily routine.
To leverage this new feature, users can speak with POF via the Google Assistant by saying, "Ok Google, talk to Plenty of Fish." The Google Assistant will in turn ask if the user wants to respond, taking dictation, repeating aloud and then sending the response message to the potential match. The integration makes the process of sending a message easier by allowing a user to speak freely, rather than type - more in line with a natural conversation.
The new integration comes on the heels of POF's launch of Spark, an in-app feature that enables users to quickly and casually initiate a more meaningful conversation. POF, already the leader in conversations with 2.5 million happening every day, has seen a tremendous increase in dialogue since launching Spark, with a nearly 25 percent increase in replies on Android and nearly 40 percent on iOS devices.
"The online dating category has seen few tech disruptions in recent years, so our goal is to really listen to our users' needs and habits, and innovate accordingly to make dating easier and true connections more meaningful," said Hesam Hosseini, CEO, Plenty of Fish. "We've found that a good conversation is the number one indicator of a great date, so both Spark and the Google Assistant integration were created to help people easily connect and get the conversation started."
Users can speak with POF via the Google Assistant by saying, "Ok Google, talk to Plenty of Fish" on Google Home, eligible Android devices or iPhones.
