Plecha Honored By DBusiness And Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association

BIRMINGHAM, Mich., July 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ryan C. Plecha has been named one of metro Detroit's "Top Young Lawyers" for 2015 by DBusiness Magazine and also has received the President's Award from the Barristers Section of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association (DMBA).

A partner at the Birmingham law firm of Lippitt O'Keefe Gornbein, PLLC, Plecha also was recognized last year as a "Super Lawyer Rising Star" and an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

The President's Award from the Barristers Section annually honors a young attorney whose career has exhibited high standards of service to the profession, his clients and the public. Plecha received the award at the DMBA's annual summer breeze party and was introduced by Norman L. Lippitt, a founding partner at Lippitt O'Keefe Gornbein.

Plecha's legal practice focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation. He played a key role in his firm's successful representation of Detroit retirees in the city's historic bankruptcy case. He also handles class action, shareholder disputes and other commercial matters.

Plecha joined Lippitt O'Keefe Gornbein in 2010. In addition to his work on the Detroit bankruptcy case, he also has defended two major class action suits; handled a dispute involving a multi-million-dollar corporate purchase agreement; represented a major auto maker in a multi-million-dollar supplier dispute, and acts as local counsel for some of the nation's top law firms.

A magna cum laude graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Plecha holds a bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College in psychology and is an active member and Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Association.

He also is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers' Executive Council, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, DMBA, Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

A native of Redford, Plecha resides in Royal Oak.
