Playboy Releases Its First-Ever 3-D Centerfold in the Magazine's June Issue
3-D Version of the Magazine's Most Iconic Feature - Sponsored by HBO(R) to Promote the June 13 Premiere of 'True Blood(R)' Season 3 - Spotlights 2010 Playmate of the Year Hope Dworaczyk
CHICAGO, May 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- More than 50 years after introducing the illustrious Playmate Centerfold, Playboy is making history again with the introduction of its first-ever 3-D Centerfold in the magazine's June issue (on newsstands and online at www.playboydigital.com Friday, May 14).
Playboy's 2010 Playmate of the Year Hope Dworacyzk is featured in the seductive 3-D nude image, which comes to life before readers' own eyes. The first-of-its-kind Centerfold is sponsored by HBO to promote the launch of "True Blood" Season 3, which premiers on the network June 13. The Centerfold is also accompanied by a 3-D "True Blood" ad, complimentary 3-D glasses, and a series-themed Data Sheet with vampire-inspired stats and facts – adding a creative, new twist to the classic magazine feature.
"I wanted to create a 3-D pictorial for the very first issue of Playboy, but didn't have enough money to include the 3-D glasses," said Playboy founder Hugh M. Hefner. "I'm happy to see the idea come to fruition with the help of one of my favorite TV shows, 'True Blood,' and I think Playboy fans will enjoy seeing our Playmate of the Year's true form."
The three-page 3-D image was shot using state-of-the-art, stereoscopic, high-resolution digital photography. When viewed with the "True Blood"-sponsored 3-D glasses included in this collector's edition of the magazine, the image appears to jump off the page and come to life.

About HBO's "True Blood"
Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning HBO original series, "True Blood," takes place in the not-too-distant future, when vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. Centered in the backwoods Louisiana town of Bon Temps, "True Blood" follows the ongoing adventures and deadly twists and turns that threaten telepathic heroine Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), her soul mate, 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), and everyone else around her. Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy®-winning HBO series "Six Feet Under") created and executive produces the show, which is based on the best-selling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.
