Plantations International Clears Malaysia Palm Oil Plantation
JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia, Jan. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hong Kong-based Plantations International, through its fully-owned Malaysian subsidiary, has completed the clearance of its last remaining oil palm trees from its palm oil plantation in Kulai, Malaysia. The clearance is designed to make way for more environmentally friendly and sustainable agroforestry crops.
Due to serious environmental concerns coupled with steep competition and the recent sharp decline in global palm oil prices, Plantations International has strategically decided to distance itself from cultivating oil palm trees until further notice.
Any and all live consulting and marketing services agreements that Plantations International has with third party oil palm growers will be fully honored till their expiry and then will be renewed on a case by case basis.
