PKWARE Introduces SecureZIP for DLP™ Software
Integrates with Data Loss Prevention Products for Automatic Encryption Remediation
MILWAUKEE, Sept. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PKWARE, Inc., the industry leader in data-centric security, announces SecureZIP for DLP, which provides automatic encryption remediation to secure sensitive information found through Data Loss Prevention (DLP) inspection. The new PKWARE product integrates with the Symantec™ DLP server solution, and includes an Application Programming Interface (API) that enables all DLP vendors to integrate with SecureZIP for DLP for on-demand encryption remediation.
Content-aware DLP solutions locate data in violation of corporate security policies. When the DLP software discovers sensitive information that must be protected, it invokes SecureZIP for DLP for data remediation. SecureZIP for DLP automatically encrypts the data to meet regulatory compliance policies and reduce security risk.
"Enterprises deploying DLP solutions have an immediate need to secure sensitive files to achieve data security governance standards and encryption is an excellent option," explained Susan Zaney, SVP of Marketing and Product Management at PKWARE. "SecureZIP for DLP encrypts the identified files to prevent costly data breaches. Because SecureZIP for DLP is invoked without any IT administrator intervention, the result is a seamless process. The files are encrypted into a SecureZIP® data container which is interoperable across the extended enterprise."
SecureZIP for DLP integrates directly into the Symantec Data Loss Prevention server product and automatically encrypts sensitive data discovered by the DLP inspection process. A documented API enables all DLP vendors to call SecureZIP for DLP encryption in response to an alert or notification. Administrators can define the DLP policy settings and customize automatic remediation options, reducing their workload. SecureZIP for DLP selects the appropriate encryption keys based on file attributes and deletes the original source file after the new SecureZIP file is created. Additionally, the unique PKWARE Contingency Key ensures the recoverability of encrypted data. SecureZIP for DLP and the API will be available in Q4 2011.
