Photo Artwork App Picas Featured on Google Play Store as Editors' Choice
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Google Play editors recently featured Picas, a newly launched app that transforms photos into paintings with advanced artificial intelligence (AI), in its Editors' Choice section. Picas, Inc. released the free photo artwork app both for iOS and Android and it was quickly creating new trends for photo filtering and processing.
The Android version of Picas app was first launched on the Google Play Store on September 1st for limited test areas. In less than a month, it reached an impressive 4.7-star average rating and has received thousands of downloads. Due to its good performance, Picas for Android now opens to global users.
Along with the global launching, Picas is also hosting an online activity on Instagram starting from September 30th, titled "Turn the Beauty around You into Art". Users who are interested in the activity could follow @picasapp in Instagram, take a photo and edit it with Picas, and share it on Instagram with the tag #artbyPicas. Participants who showcase photos with the most "likes" will be awarded with a Canon EOS Rebel T5.
Being selected by Google Play editors indicates that Picas successfully met Google Play's criteria by offering better experience with more attractive results in its kind. "Even though Picas is categorized as a photography app, it is more than a selfie enhancement app or your traditional photo editing app. Not many apps include the suite of artistic filters carried by Picas. Therefore, its niched concept further contributes to its favorable selection by Google Play editors," expressed Eunice Hu, the marketing director of Picas Inc.
As to its users' feedbacks, one user named Christina Berry, calls the app "brilliant" and was satisfied with Picas' seamless user experience and its ability to render "realistic artist effects with a simple click" with "no flaws, no glitches, no bugs -- just brilliant perfection!" Users are impressed with its ever-growing variety of filters and the photo processing speed, such as Roland Lelis, who remarked in amazement at "the number of possibilities to create artistic photos with extraordinary quality in under 10 seconds".
Consequently, it comes as no surprise that Picas boasts user loyalty with a retention rate of 70% compared to the average 30% among phone apps. According to the company, each day, a single user will open the app three times and will spend an average of 48 clicks selecting a filter. With its quick functionality, users are instantly comfortable with navigating the app and selecting as many filters as they want.
In addition, Picas has also attracted young influencers on social media platforms, such as Justice Carradine, who is constantly trying new things. Upon his discovery of Picas, shares, "Picas is awesome, I love the Gothic filter so much, it makes me look like an artist. I've already shared Picas to my followers."
