Philadelphia Business Owner Billy Cromedy, President of Advantage Contracting, Attends White House Meeting to Discuss President Obama's Budget Plan and Looming Fiscal Cliff's Effects on Small Business
PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 06, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Billy Cromedy, President of Advantage Contracting, was selected as one of a small group of minority business leaders from around the country to participate in a meeting at the White House with administration officials on December 4th. The participants in the round table hosted by the White House Business Council discussed the current fiscal cliff debate, the President's budget plan, and future job creation opportunities.
"It is an honor and a privilege to be included in such pivotal discussions on our national economy," Cromedy said about the invitation. "The opportunity to share my opinions and insight on what I believe are crucial hurdles and challenges in our current economy as they pertain to the construction industry and minority business concerns in humbling."
The President's staff continued their efforts to push the administration's position that additional revenues in the form of higher tax rates on the top 2% must be on the table during the discussions with their Republican counterparts. It was also made clear that the administration was open to some "entitlement" reforms as part of a grand bargain to move the country forward. Most if not all of the business owners in attendance agreed that an increase in their individual tax rates would not hamper their hiring or investment activity, but some certainty was needed from Washington that a mutual agreement among the legislators could be reached, not only to boost consumer confidence, but the confidence of the "job creators" moving forward.
The three-hour session concluded with a discussion on technology and competitiveness issues facing the United States in the global market.
Advantage Contracting is a full service minority owned and certified HVAC/Sheetmetal company based in Philadelphia, PA. Advantage specializes in quality fabrication, installation, and purchasing of HVAC systems and supplies.
Mr. Cromedy is scheduled to give a follow-up radio interview on 900 WURD Philadelphia in the Thursday December 6th at 8:00am.
