Petroleum Quality Institute of America Forms Advisory Board
METUCHEN, N.J., June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) announced today the formation of the PQIA Advisory Board.
The Petroleum Quality Institute of America, an organization dedicated to assuring the quality of lubricants in the US market, has formed an Advisory Board comprised of a distinguished group of professionals with prominence in a broad range of fields in the lubricants business. Announcement of the advisory board was made by Thomas F. Glenn, President of PQIA.
Glenn says, "The role of the Advisory Board is to provide PQIA's management with guidance, advice, recommendations and counsel in how to best pursue PQIA's purpose and mission."
PQIA's mission is to serve the consumer of lubricants by testing and reporting on the quality and integrity of lubricants in the marketplace and then reporting and making this information readily available to all interested parties. This will be done in a way that ensures that information is accurate, credible, non-biased, and beyond reproach. It is the objective that this improved visibility of quality will lead to wider conformance by lubricant manufacturers to specification and performance claims.
Initially numbering nine members, the PQIA Advisory Board will expand as appropriate, with additional appointments anticipated in 2011.
The value of this board cannot be overstated, says Glenn. "PQIA has a unique opportunity to be a positive influence on the quality and integrity of lubricants in the marketplace and we are inspired by the willingness of the Advisory Board members to offer their time and expertise to help enable us to achieve our purpose." In addition, Glenn adds, "The board's interest in, and commitment to quality is underscored by the fact that each member of the board has agreed to comply with the PQIA Code of Ethical Business Conduct."
The PQIA Code of Ethical Business Conduct, says Glenn, "is the cornerstone of the PQIA initiative as it clearly and strictly defines the standards by which PQIA and its management, employees, Advisory Board members, and supporters conduct business in the lubricants marketplace. It is the intent of PQIA that this Code will ensure that all PQIA Advisory Board members, Supporters and others associated with PQIA conduct themselves to a high level of ethical conduct, and comply with the requirements set forth by API, the ACC, and government regulations as they pertain to the manufacturing and marketing of lubricants."
