Performance Technologies Announces Rebranding of Company to PT
Expands Focus to NGN Solutions for Carriers, Government, and OEMs
BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Performance Technologies (Nasdaq: PTIX), a leading provider of advanced network communications solutions, today announced the official rebranding of its company to PT. The fresh identity is being debuted at the Mobile World Congress Show in Barcelona, Spain, February 15-18, 2010 on their Stand #2G39.
John Slusser, PT's President and CEO, stated, "As evidenced in our name, performance and technology are the values we were built upon. Now, standing tall on those dual pillars of our legacy, we emerge as PT, a company not just delivering on today's network demands, but already developing tomorrow's applications." Mr. Slusser continued, "In a subtle but strategic move to focusing on solutions, we elevate the company in the value chain, beyond merely providing system building blocks. By leveraging our broad array of core communications technologies, we now feature a suite of solutions that is one of the most respected and cost effective lines of communications products in the markets we serve."
Over its nearly thirty-year history, the company has developed an impressive portfolio of communications offerings, through organic expansion as well as acquisitions. Today, backed by an innovative team of experts who leverage PT's core technologies, the company offers a rich value proposition to customers in carrier, government, and OEM markets.
Patt Rice, Senior Vice President of PT, remarked, "Becoming PT represents so much more than a change in name and look. It is a burst of forward momentum into the public and government sectors. We have been systematically assembling the elements of this strategic approach, and the timing is perfect to launch it. We had all the pieces of a puzzle before – now we've devised the key. We are technology innovators, applications enablers, and solution providers. In recognizing that, we have also become our own customer, and everyone reaps the benefit."
Mr. Rice continued, "The new logo is just one aspect of the new image, but it reflects so many of the values we embrace. It is surging forward, breaking free, expanding, and broadening the mix. It includes green – signifying that we offer products that respect the environment by consuming less power. It retains a salute to our original diamond symbol, yet it is indicative of the messaging flair of young, next-generation communicators. It appeals on a global basis with no need to translate. We are, simply, PT. Performance is our name."
Scalable, extended life, high availability hardware was the genesis of PT, and now it provides the field proven foundation for the company's extensive product offerings. IPnexus® Application-Ready Systems anchor a growing portfolio of PT solutions with their IP-native pre-integrated platforms and management systems. These rigorous systems are used by OEMs, application developers, and telecom companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia Siemens Networks, and Metaswitch. Government agencies like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and such primes as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon rely on IPnexus as a vital element in their mission critical applications.
SEGway™ Signalling Solutions, PT's premier suite of IP-centric STPs, gateways, edges, and network applications, permits service providers to cost-effectively deliver revenue generating features in next-generation networks. SEGway solutions have been deployed in numerous world-class carrier networks around the globe because of their high density and unparalleled price-to-performance ratio. This, together with SEGway's flexibility in edge-to-core deployments, small footprint, and ease of use, has earned the portfolio its reputation as "Simply Smarter Signalling."
PT's Xpress™, the company's newest line, combines a powerful, customizable software application with a robust hardware platform, specifically engineered to deliver SIP-based solutions such as Pre-paid, Voice Messaging, and Web/Mobile 2.0 interactive, media-rich services. Based on a pure IP implementation, new service offerings can be quickly developed and deployed network-wide on IMS-enabled, converged TDM/IP, and VoIP networks. The Xpress suite of NGN solutions provides dynamic opportunities to build-out next-generation network solutions and value-added services.
Somewhat prophetically, the company's website was always www.pt.com; visitors online will be greeted with a bright new design and lineup of the company's solutions. As well, employees of the company have always had pt.com email addresses, so there will be no interruption of communications. The stock symbol remains unchanged, and is listed on NASDAQ as PTIX.
The newly branded PT will be on display on Stand #2G39 at the Mobile World Congress, where a reception will be hosted on Tuesday evening, February 16, 2010 from 16:30 – 19:00.
