Stibel to Deliver Commencement Address on December 5th in Malibu
MALIBU, Calif., Dec. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management announced today that Jeff Stibel, vice chair of Dun & Bradstreet (DNB) will receive an honorary Doctorate of Business degree as well as deliver the commencement address at the graduation ceremony on December 5th at the Fieldhouse on the Malibu campus.
"As an author, entrepreneur, and brain scientist, Jeff has made significant contributions to the Pepperdine community and we are delighted that he is speaking at our commencement ceremony," said David Smith, PhD, Dean of the Graziadio Business School. "In recognition of Jeff's business achievements and commitment to giving back to the community, it is with great honor that we will present him with an honorary Doctor of Business degree."
Stibel was instrumental in creating the innovative Entrepreneurial Vision Partnership, a comprehensive collaboration between Dun & Bradstreet and Pepperdine University, to conduct economic research and develop specialized curriculum that focuses on the needs and success metrics of entrepreneurs in the 21st century economy. The partnership combines resources for teaching opportunities, promotes specialized executive education options, and provides immersion opportunities for Graziadio students, including paid internships in Dun & Bradstreet's corporate programs.
Stibel was previously CEO of Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corporation and president and CEO of Web.com, Inc. He currently sits on the boards of a number of private and public companies, as well as academic boards for Tufts University, Brown University, and the University of Southern California. Stibel is the author of the New York Times bestseller Breakpoint (Macmillan, 2013) and Wired for Thought (Harvard Business Press, 2009). He holds a bachelor's degree from Tufts University in psychology, philosophy and cognitive science and a master's degree in cognitive and linguistic sciences from Brown University. Stibel was the recipient of a Brain and Behavior Fellowship while studying for a PhD at Brown University.
