BRIDGEPORT, Conn., May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- People's United Bank Retail Mobile Banking customers now have access to innovative new features to enhance their mobile banking experience.
In addition to a new layout and more streamlined navigation, the app offers debit card controls and Person-2-Person (P2P) payment options. The enhanced navigation provides quick access to balances and recent mobile activities, planning tools and calculators as well as branch and ATM locations.
Debit card controls provide more than just an on/off switch. The service enables the customer to set transaction, merchant type, location and spend threshold amounts, directly and instantly from their phone.
P2P lets the customer send money quickly and securely via text message or email for payment to a bank account, PayPal or a debit card. Because the P2P service is attached to the funding source it is fast and unlike other popular P2P solutions, does not require the extra step of funding the request before being able to pay. The service is free and provides added security and convenience as there is no exchange of account numbers.
"New features such as debit card controls and P2P, coupled with Touch ID technology, provide a comprehensive and effortless mobile experience for our customers," said Jack Barnes, President and Chief Executive Officer, People's United Bank.
