Pennsylvania Wine Enthusiasts Celebrate Wine Week 2010
Liquor Control Board presents festivals in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Hershey
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wine Week 2010 continues across Pennsylvania with tasting festivals in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, each featuring nearly 150 wineries and over 500 wines from around the world, Liquor Control Board Chairman Patrick J. "PJ" Stapleton said today.
"We're pleased to again bring Wine Week, complete with tasting opportunities and exclusive product releases, to Pennsylvania wine lovers," Stapleton said. "Throughout the three festivals, hundreds of wineries will be present along with winemakers and educators to make each festival a unique and special event."
Each venue will feature an on-site PLCB Premium Collection store featuring showcase wines from the tasting, including many available only at the festivals, in addition to VIP and Grand Tasting Segments, during which attendees can sample wines, meet winemakers and enjoy a variety of foods. Patrons should bring legal ID for age verification.
As a special feature of this year's wine week, each festival will feature selections from the PLCB Cellar Collection -- elite wines sold exclusively online and not found in local Wine & Spirits stores. These wines will be available at each festival, providing an opportunity for wine enthusiasts to see and buy these hard-to-find vintages.
On Thursday, May 6, at Heinz Field, the Eighth Annual Pittsburgh Wine Festival VIP Tasting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Grand Tasting following from 7 to 9 p.m. For ticket information, visit www.pittsburghwinefestival.com.
