Pennsylvania Slots Revenue Figures Released For April

HARRISBURG, Pa., May 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today reported that slot machine revenue in April was $214.1 million, 1.3% higher than revenue produced last April by casinos.

According to the monthly report posted today on the Board's web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, this April's gross revenue at the 11 operating casinos from slot machine play was $214,149,502 compared to $211,390,229 of gross revenue in April 2011.

The Board also reported that the amount of tax revenue generated for the Commonwealth from slot machine play during this April was $116,018,221.

The April monthly report includes the first full month of revenue from the Valley Forge Casino Resort since its March 31, 2012 opening.  Without that casino's revenue figures and comparing just the 10 casinos open in both April 2011 and 2012, revenue fell slightly by 0.6%. However, in making this comparison, it is important to note that the April 2011 figures included five Fridays and Saturdays, while the 2012 figures had only four each of those highest revenue-producing days.

Gross revenue for each of the casinos operating in April 2012 is as follows, with the percentage change reflected for those casinos that were operating in April of both years:

The average number of operating slot machines throughout Pennsylvania at the 11 casinos was 26,760 in April 2012 compared to 26,516 at the casinos in April 2011.
