Pennsylvania Lottery's Cash 5 Game Produces Eight Jackpot Winners in Five Days
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Cash 5 jackpot has been hit five nights in a row, and eight winners will receive a total of $1,086,479 in winnings from the March 11-15 drawings.
"Pennsylvania's Cash 5 game continues to be extremely popular with our players," said Lottery Executive Director Ed Trees. "Seven nights a week, Pennsylvania players have a chance at a jackpot that starts at $125,000 cash."
Since March 11, Cash 5 has had jackpot winners every night for five consecutive drawings. This is the first time Cash 5 has had five jackpots hit in a row since Nov. 10-14, 2007.
The following locations have sold Cash 5 jackpot winning tickets in the past five days:
- March 11: Giant Food Store, 330 Marketplace Blvd., Selinsgrove, Snyder County – $586,479
- March 12: Sunoco, 812 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, Montgomery County –$62,500
- March 12: Giant Food Store, 967 S. Township Line Rd., Royersford, Montgomery County – $62,500
- March 13: Charlotte's Deli LLC, 501 Allen Ave., Donora, Washington County – $62,500
- March 13: 7-Eleven, 11 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown, Lehigh County – $62,500
- March 14: Sheetz, 356 New Castle Rd., Butler, Butler County – $125,000
- March 15: Suburban Dry Cleaners, 1136 Thorn Run Rd., Coraopolis, Allegheny County – $62,500
- March 15: Exxon Harleysville Shoppe, Routes 63 and 113, Harleysville, Montgomery County – $62,500
Lottery officials cannot confirm the identities of the jackpot winners until the prizes are claimed and tickets are validated. No claims have yet been filed. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
Cash 5 is the Pennsylvania Lottery's longest-running jackpot game; it debuted in 1992 as a weekly game; it became a nightly game in 1998.
How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 play slip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-10.5.
