Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board Launches Fraud Tip Line
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Focused on improving operations and reducing waste, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, PLCB, today launched a new confidential reporting tip line, 1-855-693-2062, giving all Pennsylvanians the opportunity to help maintain the integrity of the wine and spirits system.
"PLCB employees work diligently to recognize and prevent the potential for fraud and abuse within our stores and central office operations, however, like any organization, we are not immune," said Chairman Patrick "PJ" Stapleton. "Establishing a reporting tip line sends a strong message that even one case of potential abuse is one too many, and will not be tolerated."
In addition to the telephone tip line, a web-based reporting system is also available at http://www.lcb.state.pa.us/TipLine.
Callers to the new toll-free tip line can remain anonymous while speaking with Liquor Control Board staff from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours, callers may leave a message, which will be returned within 24 hours. The PLCB will thoroughly investigate each and every tip and, if necessary, refer those that require follow-up action to outside agencies.
Should the PLCB recover a loss as the result of a tip, the person(s) reporting it may be eligible for a reward.
