Pennsylvania Governor Corbett Signs Several House Bills into Law
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today signed into law the following legislation:
House Bill 378: The bill amends the act of Aug. 5, 1941 (P.L. 752, No. 286), known as the Civil Service Act, to require that at least one member of State Civil Service Commission be a veteran. (A separate news release was issued on this bill).
House Bill 1424: The bill amends Title 3 (Agriculture) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, to provide for the establishment, registration, licensing, and use of a Pennsylvania Preferred® trademark and require the Department of Agriculture to take all actions necessary to acquire, create, establish, register, maintain, license, promote and protect the trademark for use on or in connection with the sale, marketing or promotion of a Pennsylvania-produced agricultural commodity. It also makes other changes.
House Bill 712: The bill designates State Route 997 within the limits of the Borough of Mont Alto, Franklin County, as the Sergeant Edward W. Shaffer Memorial Highway.
