Pennsylvania Governor Corbett Announces Canadian Manufacturer to Relocate to Montgomery County, Create New Jobs

HARRISBURG, Pa., April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett announced today that Environmental Solutions Worldwide America (ESWA) - an environmental technology and services company - will relocate its headquarters from Canada to Montgomery County, creating at least 97 jobs within three years.

ESWA will relocate its manufacturing business and headquarters from Canada to a leased, 40,000-square-foot facility in Montgomeryville, where the company currently operates a Research and Development and emissions-testing facility. The project will create at least 97 jobs and will retain 11 existing positions.

The company received an $844,000 funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development, including a $150,000 Opportunity Grant, a $500,000 loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund, and $194,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits. The company will also be eligible to apply for Research and Development Tax Credits.

The project was coordinated by the Governor's Action Team, a group of economic development professionals housed within the Department of Community and Economic Development. The team works directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. The Governor's Action Team worked with the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) to bring ESWA to Pennsylvania.

ESWA started in 1998 as a research and development company with the goal of developing ceramic-based catalytic converters for the automotive industry. Previously headquartered in Ontario, Canada, ESWA is now engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, and sales of environmental technologies and emissions testing and is recognized as an industry leader.
