CWIS is a state-of-the-art case management system that allows for real-time electronic sharing of state and county information critical to administering better protection to the children of Pennsylvania. The online automated child abuse history clearance application is a secure website provided for individuals who want to have their Pennsylvania child abuse history clearance processed online. This system also provides information on whether an applicant is listed in the Pennsylvania statewide database as a perpetrator of child abuse.
"We are honored to have been chosen for this prestigious award - too often, the hard work and technology behind these initiatives go unnoticed," said DHS Secretary Ted Dallas. "Most importantly, DHS continues to take action to protect Pennsylvania's children from abuse and neglect."
In its 20th year, the annual awards recognize city, county and state governments for outstanding websites and applications based on innovation, functionality, productivity and performance. The award presented to DHS was received in the category of "Government-to-Citizen State Government."
