Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Endorses Jonathan Saidel for Lieutenant Governor and State Legislative Candidates for May 18th Primary Election Only
PITTSBURGH, April 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President William George today announced the endorsement of Democratic candidate Jonathan Saidel for Lieutenant Governor and endorsements of State Legislative candidates for the May 18th Primary Election. The endorsements were made by the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Executive Council during the State Federation Biennial Convention in Pittsburgh. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO is the largest labor organization in the state, representing over 900,000 union members represented by unions affiliated with the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO.
"These candidates have displayed their leadership and their support on issues that matter most to the working people of Pennsylvania -- issues that improve living standards and promote a better quality of life for all. They have demonstrated an uncommon commitment to protecting and creating good jobs, helping unemployed families survive the recession, compassion for the injured and the disabled as well as the less fortunate, and improved educational opportunities for the children of working families. It is for these reasons as well as many more that we are proud to endorse these individuals for election in the Primary," Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Bill George said in announcing the endorsements listed below.
"We will conduct an energetic and an aggressive education and mobilization campaign on their behalf, sharing their record and message of support for the working people they proudly represent. Our principle obligation will be in helping share their record and their message of support with the working people in their legislative districts," Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Richard Bloomingdale said.
