Penn United Technologies Realigns Manufacturing Operations in Costa Rica
CABOT, Pa., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Penn United Technologies, Inc. will realign its operations in Costa Rica such that future efforts will be focused on production activities (such as product assembly) as opposed to its previous direction, which focused mainly on high precision tooling. Having recently completed the sale of its San Jose tooling operations, this strategic change is the result of satisfying the primary needs of Penn United's current and targeted customer base. Penn United's main location in Cabot, PA will continue to provide support for the design and manufacture of high precision tooling and stamping dies, precision stamping, prototyping, precision machining, custom automated equipment, and reel-to-reel electroplating.
Penn United's President and CEO, Bill Jones, stated "We must stay flexible in assessing the dynamic needs of the markets we serve. Our greatest current need is to provide our customers, such as those in the medical market, with a low cost option for assembly operations. We will continue to provide competitively priced tooling and stamping solutions from our Cabot location, while at the same time offering assembly from either Cabot or Costa Rica."
Bill Jones went on to note "We will be exploring various options for a new location within Costa Rica, and will be making investments which will appropriately meet the needs of our customer base. Our Costa Rican Operations Manager, Mr. Randall Gonzalez, will remain in the San Jose area and help support us through this transition period."
