NEW YORK, Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Paul DeNicola is joining PwC's Center for Board Governance as a director. DeNicola was the former Director at The Conference Board's Governance Center where he oversaw educational and research initiatives in corporate governance, enterprise risk management and business ethics. In his new role, DeNicola will extend PwC's research in leading-edge governance practices, develop insightful and timely guidance for directors, and participate in a variety of Center for Board Governance forums for directors and governance professionals.

DeNicola served as co-chair of The Conference Board Research Working Group on Corporate Governance and Sustainability and on the technical advisory group for The Conference Board Task Force on Executive Compensation. DeNicola will continue to work with The Conference Board in his new role with PwC, a founding member and sponsor of the Governance Center.

DeNicola also was assistant professor of philosophy at the European Graduate School and an adjunct professor of ethics in the Department of Philosophy at Hofstra University, the City University of New York and Nassau Community College. He is currently teaching corporate governance at New York University's Stern School of Business as an adjunct associate professor. He has twice been named to Directorship Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in U.S. corporate governance. DeNicola was honored in 2011 as a recipient of the Rising Star Award from the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance at the Yale School of Management.
Prior to joining The Conference Board, DeNicola served as chief academic officer of a Brooklyn, New York, private school. DeNicola earned his BA and MA degrees in interdisciplinary studies from The Gallatin School of New York University and completed a PhD in philosophy and communications at the European Graduate School in Switzerland.
