BOSTON, Aug. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PatientPing, a health technology company that connects providers to seamlessly coordinate patient care, announced today it has launched in Wisconsin through its partnership with Bellin Health, an integrated healthcare delivery system based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This partnership means that providers within Bellin Health can now collaborate on shared patients with other providers outside their network and across the care continuum, enabling a team-based, coordinated approach to patient care.
"At Bellin, quality of care and patient safety are our top priorities. In order to effectively manage the care of our patients, we need to better understand where they access services," said Dr. Brad Wozney, Bellin Health Medical Director, Ambulatory Quality and Information. "PatientPing will allow us to do just that so we can better coordinate care. We are extremely proud to partner with them on this important initiative."
Upon joining PatientPing, providers receive real-time notifications, or Pings, whenever their patients receive care, as well as patient stories that provide critical patient context such as attributed provider, visit histories and care program affiliation. By receiving real-time information about a patient's medical history, healthcare team providers can engage and coordinate during the patient's healthcare event, helping to prevent duplication of services, reduce avoidable readmissions and ensure safer care transitions.
"The PatientPing community is dramatically expanding in the Midwest. It's a privilege to connect providers in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and beyond so they can more easily and efficiently serve their patients," said Jay Desai, co-founder and CEO, PatientPing. "Bellin has proven to be an innovative health system devoted to high-quality care, and we're thrilled to support their important mission."
PatientPing's network includes tens of thousands of providers nationwide. In December 2016, PatientPing announced $31.6 million funding led by Andreessen Horowitz. PatientPing is rapidly accelerating its nationwide expansion so that any providers who share patients anywhere in the country can coordinate with one another.
