OKLAHOMA CITY, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- A patent application, recently filed, promises to capture 85-90% of the oil not being captured currently by the cap that BP has in place on the blowout preventer. Though the inventor invited BP to evaluate the patent, BP refused to do so. The invention would fit over BP's cap and capture 85-90% of the oil not being captured currently by BP's cap.

The invention solves BP's problems with natural gas hydrates freezing and blocking the flow of oil through pipes connected to tankers above the water. The invention works similar to BP's first four story device which BP attempted to place over the well site to capture the oil but without the problems which caused BP to abandon its four story device.
The invention can be used as a stand alone device installed over the well site without BP's cap being in place and it will capture 85-90% of the oil spill. The diagram attached hereto depicts the invention installed over BP's cap which is currently in place over the well site.
The invention will permit offshore drilling companies to represent to licensing agencies that they can now be prepared in the event of an oil spill.
