FREEHOLD, N.J., April 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Partners Health Alliance (PHA) today announced its formation as a new physician-owned and managed clinically integrated network (CIN). Established to help independent physicians and physician groups work together as a united front, PHA will help members take better advantage of value-based contracts with government and commercial payers, including Horizon Blue-Cross Blue-Shield New Jersey, Aetna, Cigna/QualCare, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
PHA is physician-owned and managed by Partners In Care United Medical Group and CentraState Healthcare Partners Physician Hospital Organization. The CIN was designed to encourage a team-based approach to care delivery, allowing greater sharing of patient data and best practices, and adherence to evidence-based medicine. By meeting specific value-based contract requirements, practices will have the opportunity to earn additional shared savings through the CIN.
"Partners Health Alliance provides an alternative for physicians who wish to remain independent rather than become employed," said Dr. John DeTullio, CentraState Healthcare Partners President. "This clinically integrated network will provide value-based care—high quality care at an acceptable cost. PHA will offer care coordination and data analytics that small practices simply cannot perform on their own due to the administrative burden involved."
PHA will empower physician practices to deliver more integrated care, an enhanced patient experience, and a lower overall cost of care through a broad range of optional services delivered by its dedicated managed services organization. These resources include care management and data analytics programs, technology, practice transformation and workflow expertise, and more.
"Today's value-based care environment has created a host of challenges for practices," said Steven Goldberg, M.D., Partners In Care Chairman, Board of Directors. "Being in the business of healthcare delivery demands a whole new set of responsibilities beyond patient care. The mission of Partners Health Alliance is to help practices get back to their core of caring for patients, while giving them the support, network, and tools they need to succeed."
"The formation of Partners Health Alliance will accelerate the shift to value-based care in New Jersey," said Richard Larison, PHA CEO. "This is where the healthcare industry as a whole is headed, and we are committed to advancing it within our state, especially for independent physicians and physician groups who need access to resources, but do not want to lose their identity and autonomy. Our goal is to grow this clinically integrated network over time, with the addition of other like-minded providers who are dedicated to improving quality, enhancing the patient experience, and lowering the total cost of care."
