Pareto Networks Strengthens Executive Management Team
Matthew Young, Former Vice President and General Manager of Blue Coat Asia Pacific, and Steve Woo, Former VP at McAfee, Join Pareto
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Pareto Networks (www.paretonetworks.com) today announced that Matthew Young and Steven Woo have joined Pareto as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Vice President of Product Management respectively. For almost two decades, Young has been driving sales of advanced data communications technologies worldwide, while Woo has been instrumental in setting successful product strategies for the likes of McAfee, Inc., SynOptics Communications/Bay Networks, Inc., and Cisco Systems, Inc.

About Matthew Young
Young comes to Pareto from Blue Coat, where he was the vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific/Japan region based in the U.S. During his 6-year tenure, he grew the region's business from $4 million to over $100 million, representing 5% to over 20% of the company's annual revenue. Prior to Blue Coat, he was the vice president and general manager of Fortinet, Inc. Asia Pacific, with full responsibility for sales, engineering and marketing as well as the P&L of the region. He grew revenues from $0 to over $40 million during his tenure, which represented more than 50% of Fortinet's worldwide business. He was also the vice president and general manager of Cosine Communications, Inc. Asia Pacific.
Young's background also includes sales management and business development positions with the Broadband Access Division of Ascend Communications, Inc., with ACT Networks, Inc., and with Transition Networks, Inc. He received his bachelor of individualized studies, with a minor in Chinese and Japanese, from the University of Minnesota.

About Steven Woo
Steve's most recent role was at McAfee, where he was vice president of product management responsible for creating the vision and roadmap of the next-generation firewall. He came to McAfee through its acquisition of Securify, where he was the vice president of products and business development. Prior to Securify, Woo led the product direction and go-to-market strategy for Riverhead Networks as VP of marketing and business development. Riverhead was the leader in enabling service providers to deliver cloud-based clean pipes services to protect against denial of service attacks. Riverhead was acquired by Cisco Systems where Woo drove the integration of its technology into the Catalyst 6500 solution.
Prior to Riverhead, he spent 5 years at Cisco Systems as a director of marketing, leading the product management and marketing for all security management, network monitoring and quality-of-service solutions. He joined Cisco when it acquired Class Data Systems, a wide-area network QoS vendor. Earlier, Woo was director of strategic planning and product management at SynOptics Communications / Bay Networks. He led product management and technology partnering for SynOptics network solutions from pre-IPO to cumulative revenue of $1.7B. He was an electronics practice consultant at McKinsey, Inc. early in his career.
Woo holds a BSEE from Cornell University and both an MSEE and MBA from Stanford University.
