Panasonic Automotive Unveils OneConnect(SM), the First-Ever Vehicle-Centric Marketing and Content Delivery Platform to Connect Drivers Directly with the Brands they Trust
New level of personalized message delivery and analytics launched and integrated with Personal Radio by AUPEO!®
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic Automotive debuted OneConnectSM, its most innovative content delivery platform to date, at CES 2016 today. OneConnect, the platform that Panasonic's Personal Radio by AUPEO! content service is built upon, now features a new preferred brand loyalty actions service that allows car companies and other brands to directly communicate with drivers and provide them with relevant content and contextual information.
At last year's CES, Panasonic introduced Personal Radio by AUPEO!, a service that lets consumers easily listen to their favorite on-board and off-board music mixed with an individually personalized selection of news and sports from local and global sources. By extending the OneConnect platform, Panasonic Automotive adds an even more sophisticated level of interaction by seamlessly integrating relevant messages to the driver.
OneConnect is available to auto manufacturers to add as an audio integration feature that allows them to connect with drivers through their infotainment systems. For example, notifications on software updates, service reminders and other messages can be seamlessly integrated into vehicle audio at convenient and unobtrusive times for the driver.
The effectiveness of the audio message clips is measured through actions that, for example, enable the driver to more easily initiate phone calls, schedule software updates and set reminders, making the OneConnect platform an end-to-end solution from content authoring to analytics.
"This is the future of OEM communication with their customers," said David Taylor, chief executive officer and managing director of Aupeo, GmbH. "The vehicle remains the number one listening location for most consumers, and now, for the first time ever, brands can send targeted information directly to an engaged audience."
Additionally, drivers will be able to sign up for updates from other brands to receive real-time information. For example, at their request, OneConnect can update a driver on flight information or a special offer from a business that they are near.
"This is one more giant step in adding a personalized level of service and usefulness to the in-vehicle customer experience," Taylor added. "OneConnect provides auto manufacturers with a direct communication channel to their customers, and drivers receive important, relevant information audibly and visibly right when they need it."
Personal Radio by AUPEO! is currently available on more than five million vehicles globally, covering 20 brands including Ford, VW, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Toyota, Jaguar and Land Rover. Personal Radio by AUPEO! has also been enhanced and includes these key features:
- Mixed radio stations that combine music and talk content to create a single personalized driver-friendly audio feed;
- On-demand and personalized news, weather, traffic and sports; and
- Automotive grade quality of service features including advanced bandwidth optimization that allows the user to mix their own music into stations to reduce data plan costs
The platform allows auto manufacturers to create their own user experiences and user interface designs for all on-board and connected audio content to meet their brand needs and best practices. With the addition of CRM capability to the OneConnect platform, manufacturers can now also tailor customer service options to individually connect with, understand, and engage their drivers.
The OneConnect platform is currently in production and in market with more than 20 brands.
