SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning actor, producer and writer Owen Wilson lends his affable voice to a series of new broadcast spots for TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE), the negotiation-free car buying and selling platform. The campaign is aimed at promoting its mission of making the purchase process simple, fair and fun for modern consumers, especially millennials.
Wilson made his acting debut in the highly acclaimed feature Bottle Rocket (1996), which he also co-wrote. Additionally, Wilson earned co-writing credits on Rushmore (1998) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), for which he shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Wilson is currently starring in Night at the Museum 3.
"Our primary focus at TrueCar is to reintroduce trust into the car-buying process," said Scott Painter, TrueCar's chief executive officer and founder. "Placing such a distinct and trusted voice behind the TrueCar brand puts automakers in great company and in a position to win with modern car-buyers."
Tiny Rebellion, TrueCar's Santa Monica-based creative agency of record, developed the "True Campaign" spots. They reflect America's love affair with cars that's shared by TrueCar and Wilson. This campaign is also about showing that the future of buying a car can be as joyful as driving one.
True Campaign features a mix of 60-second, 30-second and 15-second spots running both on national cable and online. Using a broad mix of talent including real users -- and even dogs! -- the spots position TrueCar as the new way to buy a car.
The campaign touches upon key TrueCar themes:
- Going Mobile: Buying a Car can actually be fun and easy -- "there's an app for that" and it's called TrueCar.
- The Power of Information: TrueCar has the most comprehensive new car pricing information available. With TrueCar you can see what others paid for the same car you're searching for, giving you the confidence of knowing you're getting a great price.
- The TrueCar Certified Dealer Difference: It's what makes the TrueCar experience unique. A network of dealers dedicated to providing transparency, no surprises and guaranteed savings.
